Ok I have been thinking this over since Last friday, may have been monday, anyway, My college recently had Trivium's "Gunshot" added to the Common Room Jukebox, and of course, me being the metalhead and Trivium fan i am i play it, then out of curiosity this one girl asks me "Why did i put this crap on" now before i go on, the college i go to is mainly populated by peope who embrace the pop and R&B culture, and i have no problem with that, or them anyway.

Anyone who knows me knows i'm not exclusive to Rock and Metal and any of their sub-Genres, i will listen to other music, i listen to Cascada (only cuz my mum blares it full blast) and i'll admit, i'll openly voice my opinion on most R&B and Rap because of the content.

"What Content is that?" you ask? The content that Rappers Boast about how life is all about Sex, Drugs and money, having sex with hoes and doing dope and shit, it is that media that repeled and disgusted me from Rap most of all.

Me and a Friend was talking over todays media and how Pop songs such as Cascada and the like talk about falling in love and have a happy ending is all 'Fake and Fantasy' where as The Media i'm into Such as Trivium and Bullet for my Valentine, construct lyrics based on real problems and emotions that envelop the present world.

Take Trivium's "Gunshot" For instance, The Lyrics are based around Domestic Violence.

"You starve your children on neglect

That is the opening Verse to the song, but although its screaming, some people hardly understand it, thus makin it instantly "crap" in there eyes.

Matt Heafy, the Vocals of the Band had said in an interview that the song "Gunshot" is about his hatred of domestic violence, hence the chorus.

Maybe it's also my hatred for domestic violence that kind of makes this rant a lil uhm...Biased, but what i ask is this:

"Is todays society (In England) blind to problems in the world and hide it behind their culture of 'happy happy, joy joy' music or are they just to stubborn and scared to face the truth behind music that reveals the world in its true horror or Murder, rape and anarchy"
